Special projects

Qualified and well-educated employees of EUROVIA CS always have been to Company’s credit. To enhance this situation further, we carry out educational programs tailored to employees’ needs, and offer them also au pair training courses abroad.

Educational programs

Company’s employees can participate, inter alia, in educational programs – Young Talents, Champions, Site Manager, Construction Project Manager – or four-year cycle Young Technical Talents, which is common to the Czech Republic, Slovak Republic, Poland, and Lithuania. EUROVIA CS, a.s., invests systematically also into linguistic knowledge and computer literacy of its people.

EuroSkills

Czech employees are winning recognition with consummate skill also in international competition. In 2008, Jan Vintr, Václav Kabourek Jr., and Roman Hek participated in EuroSkills, the international contest of professional and occupational skills, which took place in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. In the competition event “road construction”, they contended with their European competitors and took superb fourth place.

The task for our three contestants was to pave and asphalt a sidewalk to make a picture of the Rotterdam Bridge. The time limit to do this under close supervision of international panel was 18 hours. This panel judged not only the accuracy of work, but also safety at work, or site cleaning.

The participation in this contest required thorough in-house preparations. Our builders built a good and well-balanced team, which was ready to solve a number of specific tasks in various areas of civil engineering and building industries. Directly on the contests site, the work required their maximum commitment and concentration throughout the performance of the task, and represented an exhaustive test of contestants’ knowledge and craftsmanship.

The First International Contest EuroSkills 2008 took place in the well-known Ahoy Hall in Rotterdam from 18 to 20 September 2008. EuroSkills continued the 50-year tradition of the worldwide contest – WorldSkills. Contests are focused on students and young employees at age ranging from 17 to 25 years, competing on occupational skills in 49 professions in six areas (Arts and Crafts, and Fashion; Computer Engineering and Information Technologies; Mechanical Engineering and Machinery Industry; Civil Engineering; Transportation and Logistics; Services).
